Euchis Agenda online

Mai 23 the ninth International Conference of the European Chitin Society (EUCHIS) starts. Participants, who want to prepare the upcoming event, now can find the final program of the congress for download on the official homepage.

Four days representative from research, development and industry will meet in Venice to share latest trends and findings in chitin and chitosan research. From Sunday to Tuesday lectures and presentations in the following topic s will be given:

  • Chitooligosaccharide,
  • Biomedical Applications,
  • Food, Textile and diverse applications,
  • physico-chemical and
  • Enzymatic

Important speakers will report about these issues:

  • Illum: A Nose for Chitosan.
  • K. Varum: Tailoring of chitosans.
  • I. Tikhonovich: Role of chitin-like compounds in microbe-plant signalling.
  • G. DiColo: Chitosans as permeation enhancers.
  • V. Varlamov: Preparation of nanoparticles based on N-acetlchitosan derivatives in the presence of tripolyphosphate.
  • L. David: From chitosan solutions to hydrogels: role of sub-micrometric heterogeneities.
  • G. Roberts: Chitosan-alginate gels.
  • M. Peter: Mass Spectrometry of Aminoglucan Oligosaccharides Using Electrospray Ionization MS/MS and MS/MS/MS
  • S. Senel: Veterinary applications of chitosan.
  • K. Heppe: Chitosan as pharmaceutical raw material.
  • R. Brzezinski: Chitosanases: chitosan hydrolysis and beyond.
  • M. Robitzer: Synthesis and characterization of new chitosan based catalysts.
  • G. J. Tsai: Immune modulatory activity of the water-soluble hydrolytic products of chitosan.
  • S. Hudson: Some Bioadhesive and Haemostatic Properties of Chitosan/Poly (aspartic acid) Layered Films Surface Modified with RGD Peptides.
  • C. M. Caramella: Chitosan based therapeutic systems for mucosal application.
  • H. Saimoto: Synthesis of New Chitosan Derivatives by a Regioselective Mannich Reaction.
  • T. Franco: Chitosan biodegradable and intelligent packaging: monitoring variations.
  • A. Ando: Structure and function of chinosanase.
  • B. Moerschbacher: A novel sequence-specific chitosan hydrolase generating oligomers withblock-PA.
  • R. Chen: Factors affect hydrodynamic behavior of chitosan in acidic aqueous solutions.
  • M. Weinhold: Conformational and Branching Analysis of Chitosan.
  • N. Keddig: The biological compatibility of chitosan.
  • V. Eijsink: Structure and Function of Chitinolytic Enzymes.
  • S. Strand: Chitosans for gene delivery.
  • C. Kwon: Self-assembled glycol chitosan nanoparticles for cancer imaging and therapy.
  • M. M. Jaworska: Kinetics of enzymatic deacetylation of chitosan.

Every day from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm academic and industrial researchers and developers will present their work and results on 103 posters in poster sessions.

The Heppe Medical Chitosan Team is curious about the contents that hide behind the titles and what new trends in the application of chitosan will become apparent.

In the course of the congress we will keep you informed on our homepage.
