  • Katja Richter was elected from the EUCHIS board as assistant treasurer in September 2015

2014

  • Successful auditing by TÜV Rheinland.
  • HMC welcomes the 500. customer.
  • HMC is co-organizer of the 12th International Conference of the European Chitin Society and 13th International Conference on Chitin and Chitosan in Münster, Germany from August 30th to September 2nd, 2015

2013

  • HMC is member of the The Nano3Bio consortium funded by EU from the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration.
  • Successful auditing by TÜV Rheinland.

2012

  • New orientation of Sales department at HMC.
  • Successful auditing by TÜV Rheinland.
  • HMC+ at EUCHIS conference in Porto, Portugal, sponsoring poster prizes

2011

  • HMC+ gains the certification under ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.
  • Successfull auditing by TÜV Rheinland.
  • Release of the new Chitovation edition.

2010

  • The second round financing successfully completed. The High-Tech Gründerfonds increases its HMC+ shares.
  • Katja Heppe get married and change her name from Katja Heppe to Katja Richter
  • Participation at the 2nd Investforum Sachsen-Anhalt.
  • HMC+ now is sponsor for both pengulins Tou Feng and Quesan in the Zoo of Leipzig.
  • Launch of the campaign product of the month.
  • Panel discussion Katja Heppe with the Federal Minister of the Interior Dr. Thomas de Maizière.
  • Participation at the 1st High-Tech Partnering Conference in Bonn.

2009

  • HMC+ becomes sponsor of the words Chitin and Chitosan.
  • Election of Katja Heppe into the board of members of the European Chitin Society (EUCHIS).

2008

  • Sponsorship for the Pangulin Tou Feng in the Zoo Leipzig, the only Pangulin in a european zoo.
  • Shareholding of the High-Tech Gründerfonds and a Business Angel in the company.

2007

  • Relaunch website.
  • New image broschure of Heppe Medical Chitosan GmbH will be published.
  • Regional winner IHK Halle Dessau, DIHK competition "Best Business Idea".

2006

  • Award for Katja Heppe as Fonder of a new business of the year 2006 on the occasion of the Economic Ball, by favor of Ministry of Employment and Economic Affairs in cooperation with Wirtschaftsspiegel Sachsen-Anhalt KG.
  • Katja Heppe gets a special award as woman entrepreneur in Saxony Anhalt 2006.
  • Entrepreneur of the month September, Univations-Inoovations and Founders-Network Saxony Anhalt.
  • The new website goes online. Service capabilities of HMC+ and its products are presented at www.medical-chitosan.com.
  • Development and implementation of HMC+'s new market and company strategies.
  • Heppe Medical Chitosan GmbH awarded the IQ Innovation Award Halle (Saale).
  • Change from Katja Heppe Medical Chitosan to Heppe Medical Chitosan GmbH on March 1, 2006.

2005

  • First customers in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic sector purchase products from Katja Heppe Medical Chitosan.
  • Concentration on the core competencies: Research, Production and Development of intelligent chitosan products.
  • Start of production of high-purity chitosan products and chitosan derivatives.
  • Clear increase in quality of chitosan though the application of new production technologies.
  • Foundation of Katja Heppe Medical Chitosan by biotechnologist Katja Heppe on August 1, 2005.
  • Change in generations within the family and strategic decision for the Central German Region Halle (Saale) & Leipzig.

2002

  • Katja Heppe researches the topic of Overcoming the Blood/Brain Barrier with help from chitosan as carrier.

2001

  • Katja Heppe researches the topic Transportation of Substances Past the Intestinal/Blood Barrier with help from chitosan.
  • Research directed at chitosan in medicine and cosmetics.

1998

  • Development and testing of future chitosan technologies promising a definite improvement in purity and quality of chitosan.
  • Katja Heppe recognizes the problems in the sector (lack of quality and non-transparent classification of products).
  • Idea: with a better quality, chitosan could be used in a wider range of applications as previously known.
