Publications in November and December 2013

The year 2013 was an outstanding year for chitosan research, as a new record of publications has been achieved. Throughout the year, 1845 articles about chitosan and chitosan derivatives have been published, which mainly focused on animal and human studies, nanoparticles, pharmaceutical preparations and evaluation studies. The leading scientists in the field of chitosan were Rui L. Reis (University of Minho, Portugal), Shantikumar V. Nair (Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, India) and Andreas Bernkop-Schnürch (University of Innsbruck, Austria).

Publications in September and October 2013

In September and October 2013, 290 publications about chitosan and its diverse derivatives have been released. They present novel formulations of chitosan-based nanoparticles and pharmaceutical preparations and performed animal and human studies. The leading nations in chitosan research are China (75 articles), India (37) and USA (27).

Publications in July and August 2013

In the summer months July and August, 222 publications about chitosan and chitosan derivatives have been released. Most of these reports examined chitosan-based pharmaceutical preparations and nanoparticles and analysed the effectiveness in animal and human studies. The leading countries in chitosan research are: China (70 articles), India (23) and Taiwan (16).

Publication May and June 2013

231 articles about chitosan and chitosan derivatives have been published in May and June 2013. The main topics focused on animal and human studies and on chitosan-based nanoparticles and pharmaceutical preparations. Moreover, the physico-chemical properties and pH sensitivity of various chitosan derivatives were intensively studied. Among the top nations of chitosan research are again: China (76 articles), USA (30) and India (14).

Publications in March and April 2013

In March and April 262 publications were released about Chitosan, which mainly focused on animal and human studies, nanoparticles and pharmaceutical preparations. The most successful nations in the field of chitosan research have been: China (83 articles), India (31) and USA (22).

Publications in January and February 2013

At the beginning of year 2013 numerous articles about chitosan and chitosan derivatives were published.  All in all 286 publications were released in January and February by leading scientists from China (86 articles), USA (25) and India (25).  The main research field addresses chitosan in animal and human studies, nanoparticles and pharmaceutical preparations.
