After traveling the beautiful landscape of Iceland, our Chitosan crab is now on its way to Siglufjörður for EUCHIS 2023. Halle an der Saale, 18th August 2023: While others are still pondering the end of summer, the chitosan industry is meeting in Iceland's northernmost city, Siglufjörður, and presenting the future around this fascinating substance. Five outstanding lectures will lead to the total of 48 international profound insights on chitin and chitosan that will crown your visit to this nature-rich area. Our Managing Director and renowned chitosan expert, Katja Richter, will present ways to ensure quality management of different raw material sources of chitosan.

We are very pleased to announce that Katja Richter, CEO of Heppe Medical Chitosan GmbH, has been appointed to the scientific committee of EUCHIS 2023. EUCHIS 2023, the International Conference of the European Chitin Society (EUCHIS 2023) and the 15th International Conference on Chitin and Chitosan (15th ICCC) will be held in Siglufjörður, Iceland, from September 11-14, 2023.

The DFG is establishing eight new priority programs for 2023. A total of 53 million euros will be available to them over the next 3 years. The aim of the priority programs is to investigate the scientific basis of particularly current or emerging research areas. We are therefore very excited that one of them is focused on the topic of chitin and chitosan.

At the EUCHIS (European Chitin Society) webinar on the 26th of october 2021, Katja Richter, CEO of HMC, talked about the use of chitosans in medicine and the different aspects that need to be considered in terms of guidelines, qualities or proper chitosan ordering.

Gustav Vaaje-Kohlstad from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) will give a presentation on the topic: Chitinolytic enzymes - from catabolism to virulence in the EUCHIS webinar on 30.11.2021 at 12 pm (CET).

The European Chitin Society (EUCHIS) is a non-profit organization, whose objective is to encourage basic and applied scientific studies of all aspects of chitin, including chitosan, derivatives of chitin and chitosan, and related enzymes. To stay virtually connected in times of social distancing, the European chitin society starts an interesting webinar series about current chitin and chitosan related research topics.

Unfortunately it is announced today that the 14th European Chitin Society conference (EUCHIS) has to be postponed to 2020.
