The characterization of the molecular weight of chitin, chitosans and chitosan derivatives is performed by size exclusion chromatography (GPC/SEC). In addition to the conventional determination of the mass-averaged molar mass (Mw), numerically averaged molar mass (Mn) and the polydispersity index (PDI) of the polymer using an RI detector, we also offer determination using a light scattering detector.
