Night of Sciences in Halle
The public will be inspired scientifically and culturally. The hosts offer a wide program for an amusing, entertaining and interesting evening. The Universities’ Big Band, choir and orchestra will have their share in the entertainment program.
Everybody is invited to listen to lectures, or to throw a glance behind the doors of laboratories, museums, clinics, institutes and libraries. Many experiments and brainteasers shall spark the interest in scientific research mainly in the younger generation.
The opening ceremony of the Night of Sciences takes place one night before on July 1. The Academic Orchestra presents a concert in the Lions’ Building of the University.
To augment the notoriety of the biomaterial chitosan, Katja Heppe and Torsten Richter will present the biodegradable polymer chitosan. Interested people will learn during the lecture about the sources and diverse application possibilities of chitosan and its derivatives. Everybody can have a look at and take a hold of Chitosan.
Title of the lecture is: “What do crabs, fungi, mosquitoes have in common with sausage casings, hairspray, medicine, artificial skin and medical high-tech yarns?”
